Ohne may be a small village with 600 citizens, but it’s very old.
The church celebrated its 900 year existence in 2010.
Ohne was in the past an important crossing over the river “vechte” on the route Amsterdam-Hanover.
The village Centrum (1500m) has two restaurants/pubs and a small grocer.
On the marked square is a cash point.
The nearby lakes 'Haddorfer Seeën’ have a beautiful nature, swim possibilities and two restaurants on 1500m walking distance.
At a distance of 2 kilometres there is a cheese farm with delightful cow and goat cheese. There are regularly tours on the farm.
On 3,5 km is farm with a fine terrace and good food.
For the people who have a special taste for food is hotel “Wilmink’s” in Neuenkirchen (8km) a very good choice.
In the surrounding is Bad Bentheim (medieval castel of the earl of Bentheim) with his salt swimming bath very attractive.
Schüttorf has a very nice marked place.
The monastery Bentlage near Rheine is worth a visit. There are also “salinen” and a zoo.
